Farmhouse Restaurant in Van

The food was excellent, and the rolls were not only huge, but was probably the best bread I have ever had at any restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is laid out simply and is very clean. The staff of the restaurant were friendly and prompt. An excellent place for a family meal.

I absolutely loved this place. It's simple back on the farm feel and atmosphere with great food. Good quality and portion sizes. Was nice to slow things down and relax and enjoy a good meal after a long day in the truck. Server was great to handle any special requests that we had and fast service but never rushed us etc..I liked it so much I will be back in the morning to try out the breakfast. I even got to meet the owner, he was quick to explain all the props and that he actually used to drive the tractor that now sits inside the restaurant.

The place offers a large variety of delicious food. I loved eating here. Employees are always very nice, rates are convenient and the spot is always well organised.

Delicious! My husband and I are truck drivers and we were here for a couple days. During that time we had the 14 oz steak. It was amazing, the seasoning they used was perfect and it was cooked exactly as ordered. I also had the chicken and dumplings special and another night had the catfish special. Both were wonderful and I would recommend. The homemade yeast rolls were so good that even though we're trying to stay away from carbs we had to make an exception for these!

The rockers outside are a hint at what you'll discover when you enter the Farmhouse Restaurant. You're greeted by an authentic barn dining room on one side and a lovely farmhouse on the other. The food is classic Texas comfort food. My native Texas friends tell me the the Chicken Fried Steak is the best they've ever had. On thelighter side they have great salads and ASK for their wrap and hamburger mini menu. Great place!

We are on a long trip heading back home we decided to stop at the farmhouse restaurant. We had a huge order everything was fresh and delicious. Customer service was beyond exceptional.

Orderd the Monte Cristo sandwich and chicken spaghetti with spinach. The spinach was a little bland but the fries were hot and fresh the sandwich was a little greasy but it was deep fried so what do you want. Chicken spaghetti was pretty good cheese spaghetti and chicken, can't go wrong there. Service was prompt and friendly.The roll was exceptionally good. By trucker standards a pretty good place to eat will be back to try other dishes.

Best breakfast around! Everything is so fresh, and flavorful! I’ve never tasted better country fried steak! The inside is beautiful, and cozy, such an amazing atmosphere! Affordable as well! We will be back!

Great experience! We had the fried fish and it was absolutely delicious! The yeast rolls will make you sing a song. 😋 I love the atmosphere and the service. I’ve been missing out.

We were heading to Edom to visit the Potters Brown store and decided to try out this place for lunch. Fried Mac and cheese was really good. Fried catfish was also good but the chicken fried steak was okay. The meat seemed overcooked/dry. Service was great. Our server was attentive even though she was also serving a large group (about 15 people).

They have the best dinner rolls I've ever hadWe used to go there all the time when we lived in the area, so when I come back to the area I always stop by. I wish the train was running. When my daughter was little that was her favorite part of the restaurant and we always thought it was cool. Hopefully they can cure it's ailments sometime soon.

Oh my gosh! Chicken fried steak and old fashioned mashed potatoes all made from scratch! A nice salad, and iced tea, all. served with a melt in your mouth yeast rolls for a price of $12.00! Oh yes, and don't forget the best coconut pie I have ever eaten! I will be back, every time I go by!

Stopped by for lunch. First visit to this restaurant. The decor is definitely country. I was seated right away and was served a biscuit while making my decision for lunch. I decided on a sandwich which was served in a very short time. The presentation was okay and only would have been made better by hand cut fries instead of the ones from a big bag. The taste and texture of the sandwich was great. The fries okay only. The server was very pleasant and fast. Overall I would rate it very good and would recommend this place. I plan to stop again for breakfast soon.

The fresh rolls are awesome. I wonder if i can take a few for the road..OMG the chicken fried steak was great. The gravy was awesome.I definitely have to come back.

Stopped here for breakfast, and it was phenomenal. Great service, great prices, and amazing food! Next time I'm in the area I will definitely be stopping again!

This is a quiet little place just off I-20 at the Van exit. It can be busy during peak lunch and dinner hours. Serves good simple American dishes. I recommend the chicken-fried steak; it comes with 2 sides. Good food, good service, prices are fair.

The food here is fresh and plentiful. Friendly staff and fairly extensive menu. Their homemade pies are exceptional along with their homemade yeast rolls. You will not leave hungry.

Some of the food taste like it was zapped in a microwave, at least the 2 times that I ate there. Some of the food taste like it was bought at Sam's Club and then heated up and served. When I hear Farmhouse I think of my grandparents and grandma cooking food from scratch.

Great place! We stopped in on recommendation and happened to arrive at 8:43pm (they close at 9pm). They did not even hesitate to seat us and feed us. Our waitress (Kaylee) was really talkative and polite in spite of her last minute table. ;-) The food was really good, fresh, and homemade. Lots of options but we highly recommend the Ribeye, Beef Mini, and homemade rolls.

Food was Excellent for breakfast. "Above & Beyond" portion-wise! Was stuffed when I left. Service was Great as well. 1st time there this morning with some friends. Will Definitely stop in when I have a craving for country-style food and portions.

Very good. The mashed potatoes were a little bland but still edible. Chicken fried steak and grilled asparagus were outstanding. Prices were also very good. The negative reviewers here just compare everything to the corporate cookie cutter food factories they typically eat at.

Get the T-bone, skip the Popcorn Shrimp (what was I thinking anyways?), and lower your expectations, salad lover. The rolls, baked in muffin tins, are pretty good. The salmon looked amazing.

Bread was outstanding. Service with a smile. The main meal lacked flavor that I'm accustomed to, but that is my personal opinion. Chicken fried steak needed more salt and was too thick so it was a little chewy. Too many other places to try to me to justify going back.

Great experience... great food. Decor is stunningly beautiful a must see.
